Of the temples in Taiwan honoring the Jade
Emperor back in the Qing Dynasty, the Yuanqing Temple is the most famous one.
It was first erected in the 28th year of the emperor Qianlong in
1763 by a few people came from Chuanchcu area of southern China. The
mountain-shape roof in the form of ceremonial arch of the front hall makes the
entire building look glamorous. The dynamic construction of the pair of blue
stones lion, the brick sculpture, and the pottery on the porch are all
masterpieces of civil arts.
